Is Trader Joe’s Chili Onion Crunch Good?

It’s good if you’re looking for a versatile chili crunch that you can use on a variety of things, you’ll find that it’s quite good on a number of things like eggs, pizza and more.

If you’re bold, you can take a spoonful of it and eat it without anything accompanying it and it’s quite good on its own.

Is Trader Joe’s Chili Onion Crunch Spicy?

It’s definitely lower on the spicy scale. There are more smoky notes rather than being a spicy chili crunch. If you’re someone who can tolerate a bit of spice, this one is ideal for you.

Why You’ll Like Trader Joe’s Chili Onion Crunch

  1. It’s Cheap! One of the highlights is that it’s one of the most inexpensive chili oils/chili crunches you can find. At roughly $4, it’s a small price to pay and less risky than some of the other chili crunches you can buy.
  2. You’ll also like it if you like the crunchy textures. It is quite crunchy and you can taste the onion and garlic bits equally.
  3. If you want to be able to fully taste your chili crunch without the spice overpowering, this is definitely a safe bet for you.
  4. If you like it a bit savory but not too salty, this one has a good balance.

Why You Might Not Like Trader Joe’s Chili Onion Crunch

  1. The amount of oil. It does seem to have a bit more oil than ‘crunch’.
  2. If you don’t like things too crunchy. The crunchy bits are very prominent. They can also get stuck in your teeth.
  3. It’s not spicy enough for you. This is definitely on the milder side. As previously mentioned, you can easily down a heaping spoonful of it and not be killed by the spice (unless you have absolutely zero tolerance for spice).
